Parrots make great pets. They have more personality than goldfish

So today was the day that I figured I would introduce myself, I'm Brian, see there I am in the blue sweatshirt. Melanie has been wanting me to start writing blogs on here for awhile now. I'm new at the whole blog seen, so you'll have to bare with me. I'm from Texas, but living in Utah going to school at BYU. I'm not used to this snow bit, I'm used to an inch a year and it sticking for about an hour. So you can imagine my surprise when I found out the snow wouldn't go away until March. I'm learning lots about the cold weather, dressing in layers, wool socks, snow tires, and closing the windows.

School at BYU is fun, its pretty different from the small school I went to before, but its still the same routine, wake up at 6:45 in the morning, go to 8am class and fall asleep about 8:35am.
BYU is in Provo, which is about an hour south of Salt Lake, which is about 6 hours from Las Vegas, other than that, there's not much else around. I walk past this sign everyday, and I wonder sometimes, if the world is our campus, does that mean that I live in on-campus housing? and will I every leave campus? Silly questions, but it makes you wonder... I live in some apartments about 2 blocks from campus and this last week they did cleaning checks, this comes as a surprise to me, I mean, why do they do cleaning checks if these are normal apartments, and why then did we pay a security deposit? I guess they have some good in them, there's 5 of us in this apt. and there's a guy from Mongolia, and another from the Ukraine, and remembering back to when I lived in Panama, if there were no cleaning checks, nothing would probably ever get cleaned. BYU is fun, but Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

Hahaha! You´re hilarious! Yep, that´s the routine of a privite church college...Clean checks, once a week....and the funniest thing is that at the end of the semester there is a thing called.."white-glove check" that´s even worse...we are talking deep cleaning...then you have exams...and packing to do...end of semesters are busy busy busy. Well, if the world is the campus...does that mean that there is BYU in Peru...it doesn´t look like it...unless you´re talking about internet technology. Maybe you really live on-campus instead of off-campus...that´s why you have clean-checks. Think about it.

Aww... you have to withstand the cold. Boo-Hoo. You should go outside and make a snowman. Then you would come to appreciate snow. Or go sledding; that would be fun.

I think that "the world is our campus" is probably referring to learning about everywhere in the world and the increasing global society we live in, but sure, you live in on-campus housing... that's why you have the cleaning checks. I've never once in my life had a cleaning check... not even by my parents.

It's a good thing you're not in Kansas anymore... Who'd ever want to live there?
