Law School is a lot like High School

1. You are with the same 150 people all day every day
2. They tell you which classes you need to take (at least your 1L year)
3. There is a weekly popularity contest with the student government people
- there are also lots of theme days/contests (ie: Halloween, mustache competition - which I may or may not have won)
4. Gossip travels fast... For example one day you can be talking to someone in the parking lot, and the next day, five people will ask you if you're dating
5. Passing notes in class = gchat in class, more sneaky until you burst into laughter
6. You have your own locker (aka carrel)
7. Cliques are avid... the first day they tell you to get into a study group and then you protect your outlines from all outsiders for fear of dropping your GPA.
8. There are intramural sports... maybe not as competitive as high school sports, but that all depends on what high school you went to (I'm thinking about Clarenceville specifically)
9. The nerds are very competitive to get to the Top 10 (my high school didn't have a valedictorian, but rather a Top 10*)
10. The teachers give you busy work in the form of reading hundreds of pages per day
11. There is a big end of the year dance (The Barrister's Ball)
12. There are lots of ridiculous clubs to pad your resume. I'm thinking of joining the Native American Law Students Society for Intellectual Property and Estate Law Development (NALSSIPELD).**

*I may have been very proud to be in the group, I couldn't tell you what number, but up there... not quite so in Law School
**This may not actually be a club

Like button!!! So, when I said I don't ever need to do high school again, I precluded law school. Awesome.

The busy work comment is particularly making me laugh. Maybe it's because I just assigned at 500 page book to a 13 year old :)
