Premarital Class
Getting married in the near future? The Student Health Center receives very high marks from students for its premarital classes. We help you understand basic facts about human sexuality, including anatomy and its physiological and emotional responses.
The Premarital Class suggests ways to help young men and young women to have strong and healthy marriages and provides time for group questions and private answers from a clinician. Birth control education is given and prescriptions are available.
Men's Class (approx. 2 hours) | Women's Class (approx. 3 hours) |
My questions:
What are the high marks in?
Why do women have to sit through an extra hour? It's because we're the ones having the babies, but I still think men should have the extra hour as well.
And if you were getting married, wouldn't this be something you do with your significant other? Or is that just Lamaze classes?

A friend told me about this class. From what she said, I understood that this class was required in order to get birth control from BYU's student health center. She also said that the people in the class really needed it because they didn't know anything about sex... It makes me a little worried for the general sexual health of most Mormons. No one outside of church questions why I would get the HPV vaccination: clearly ovarian cancer is a reasonable thing to avoid.
