I've always found this to be really weird, and kind of embarrassing. I don't know why. Maybe because there's not that much left in the bottle, and we always have more.
But I recently found myself to the end of my face moisturizer bottle, and couldn't get the rest of it to come out for the life of me... so I resorted to my dad's old standby trick:
I cut the bottle in half and was able to use the lotion inside for about another week! That's a lot of lotion left over.
When I did this, I immediately thought of my dad, and teasing him all those times for cutting the salad dressing bottle in half.
So I sent him the photo via text message to show him the error of my ways. I captioned it, "I am my father's daughter."
My mom responded immediately with "What can I say?"
Three days later, my dad responds: "Finally figured out seeing a picture. Yes you are my daughter."
I died laughing. Mostly because it was three days later. It was just too good.
So Dad, I'm glad I'm your daughter. I hope to continue to do other quirky things that are pretty practical. And you always keep me laughing. It's because you're my D.U.D. (dear, understanding Dad).
