Jumbo Eggs? ...

Well, this has been the best Christmas break ever. Why? Well, firstly because I don't have to go back to school on Thursday... because I'm a GRADUATE. I know, I know, I already told everyone this, but it's starting to sink in, especially since my grades are all in.

Secondly, because Brian came to Michigan to visit. He told me he's never living in Michigan because there is too much snow (even though we only really got snow today) and that he could never shovel it. He nearly had a heart attack apparently... he needs to do some serious cardio to keep up with me.

This is Christmas afternoon (we waited until noon to open presents for my brother and his wife to come from her family and please ignore the hair). Brian got me a journal and put in pictures with lots of funny inside jokes. It was very sweet.
The Herlin's got me some pretty cool books that I plan on reading before I go on my mission in February. They are such a good family. I miss them!
This is our amazing New Year's Eve Party... We ate leftovers and chocolate cake and stayed home. I didn't really have anywhere to go, and with the storm, we decided we would just stay in and I would try to beat him in Monopoly (which of course, I didn't). Yeah, we're lame, but we had a good time. Well minus the fact that we had a little snowball fight and I fell on the deck and hit my head on the railing and had a huge bump, and the fact that we nearly missed midnight because I was engrossed in my puzzle. Yes, I'm lame, I know... How often do I just get to sit around and do nothing.
It was a really fun week... We went to the Ford Rouge Factory Tour, which Brian really liked. Then we went to Ann Arbor and walked around campus and he got really cold, and it wasn't even that bad out. We also went to Frankenmuth which he didn't really understand why we went there, but I think he liked Zender's and Bronner's. It was a bit of a drive, but I hope that he had fun.

We also went to Detroit and just drove around. We never did take a picture at 8 Mile, but I think he enjoyed driving through the city. Then he decided that he wanted to be an international traveler on this vacation, so we turned on the tunnel (without passports or proper identification) and went to Canada. The woman blocking us from Canada was fairly upset with us... Apparently you can't take pictures at the border. And just bringing your driver's license isn't enough (which I know, but it was spur of the moment). The bridge probably took a little longer that the tunnel, but the guy was much nicer and just asked us where we were born. Yes, I was a little worried they were going to search my car or something, but all they would find were the Hymns and an extension cord. Our travels within Canada were pretty simple. It was so cold along the river. My eyes were watering so much and it was so freezing. We were outside for about 20 minutes. Then we drove back across the bridge. It took awhile and the GPS system went down, so we had to pull out a MAP... Travesty, I know!

We also went to the Detroit Temple, and I got my endowments taken out. It was a good experience. I'm sure we did some other stuff too, but all in all, it was a good week.
What a trickster... Throwing snowballs at me just after midnight. Happy New Year!

We played a lot of games because we're game people. And I learned that Wii works a lot of muscles that I apparently do not use. Bowling is so fun though. I'm still in the 125-145 range, but I'm sure I can do better. Brian didn't like Mario Party because it took too long to play one game, but I thought it was more like a regular video game.

We did a lot of other stuff too, and we didn't do a lot of stuff... like drink Vernors or go sledding. However, we did spin out on M-5 and nearly get in an accident. Luckily we weren't one of the 10 cars we saw in the ditch.

In case you were wondering, JUMBO EGGS are the most common type of eggs, which is why they are cheaper than 'large' eggs. This is what my parents taught us this week.

Lynn,
ugh... no I had to watch The Graduate for my class on the 60s... I'm not due to watch that movie again for... 20 years when it's on mini-micro film - MMFs.

Michelle,
We had a great time. He's not good at keeping in contact with the family apparently. I didn't get him that good with a snowball, but the shock of spinning out on the freeway was nearly enough to kill him.
