Michigan basketball was relevant this season for what seemed
like the first time in 20 years. When I attended Michigan, I got free tickets (once
a year, if that) and had my choice of a mostly empty Crisler Arena. I loved my
time at the University of Michigan, and I love the camaraderie that develops
around sports.

To prepare for the big game, I decided to do some
meditation. I figured that I would be able to bolster 19 year old boys’
basketball skills by spending some time connecting to my inner being.

I was convinced to gather with some friends for the
ridiculously late start time for someone watching in the Eastern Time Zone and
has work the next day.
Unfortunately, things don’t always go as we hope. In the first half, as Spike was heating up, I felt elation and that the team would pull off a victory for the maize and blue.
And yet, when the clock ticked those last few seconds, this is how I felt:

Completely bruised.
I will live to watch another game. And hopefully we will win
another National Championship. Hail!
